Thank you for your interest in the Medical Career Collaborative (MC²) program! Please review the following guidelines below before beginning your application:

To create and submit an application, you will first need to set up an account. Upon clicking ‘apply’ at the top of this page, you will be prompted to sign-in. Please click the blue ‘sign up now’ link to register your email address and password.

Please note: upon entering an email address you will be asked to send a verification code. Check the inbox of the email address you entered for that verification code which will come to you from Children’s Hospital Colorado B2C. Enter the verification code in to the sign up page in order to create a password.

The account that you create through this website will be used solely for the MC² application process. All information entered is secure and will not be shared outside of the MC² application review process.

Once you have successfully registered an account, you can sign-in to the application using your email and password.

After filling out your name, date of birth, contact information and address you may log out and log back in using your same email/password credentials. Your information will be automatically saved so you may complete the application at your convenience.

After filling out the first page of the application, with your name, date of birth, contact information and address, you may scroll back and forth through the application in its entirety without having to fill in any additional information.

The application will involve the following components which are all evaluated by our selection committee:

To ensure you don’t lose any of your work, MC² staff recommends writing your short answer essay responses in a word document, and once you have completed those – copy and paste your answers into the online application for submission.
- For your convenience, the essay questions are provided to you here:
- Why are you interested in the healthcare field, and what are your specific interests? (4-6 sentences)
- As you think about a future career in healthcare, what patient population do you feel most passionate about working with and why? (4-6 sentences)
- What three adjectives would those closest to you use to describe you? Please explain. (2-3 sentences)
- What is something about your background or identity that would help you care for patients from diverse backgrounds in the future? (4-6 sentences)
- Describe one person (famous or not; dead or alive) that inspires you and why. (4-6 sentences)
- Describe a challenge you have faced and what you have learned from it. (4-6 sentences)
- Identify an issue facing high school students today and what you think should be done to address it. (4-6 sentences)
- What is something you would change about the healthcare system as it exists today? (4-6 sentences)
- Imagine you are a student intern in the hospital. While standing at the nurse’s station, a man asks you what room his family member is in and you can tell that he is quite angry. For the safety of the patient, what would you do next? (4-6 sentences)

Students will need to complete all of the application fields and attach a transcript before submitting their application. Please note that recommenders will not receive your request for a recommendation form until you have formally submitted your application.

Once your application is submitted, the recommender that you identified in your application will receive an email from MC² outlining instructions for completing and submitting the recommendation form.

At any time, students may log in to the site to see the status of their application.

All applications must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, March 6, 2024 to be considered by our selection committee.

Recommendation forms must be received from your identified recommender by the Wednesday, March 20, 2024 deadline in order for students’ applications to be considered complete.

Recommendation forms may be completed by any one adult who knows the student through a school, professional, community setting etc. Recommenders cannot be related to the applicant.

Only applications submitted through the online system will be considered.
